Objectives

This course will enable the candidate to gain complete knowledge of Urology instrumentation and enable him to assist efficiently in Urology surgeries.

    GNM nurses, BSc Nursing nurses, Scrub nurses, Circulating nurses

  • Assist in Urology surgeries – DJ Stenting, Cystoscopy, URS, TURP, PCNL, ESWL
  • Setup Urology instrument trolley independently and learn how to operate C-Arm
  • Learn to install and check various energy sources like Holmium Laser,Harmonic, Bipolar, Enseal etc
  • Learn about Operation theatre NABH protocols
  • Presentation and manipulation of various equipments, design, principle, ergonomics, and sterilization methods
  • Theory and “Hands On” practical demonstration on pelvic trainer
    • Presentations and video projections
      • Introduction to Urology surgery: history of Urology
      • Basic principles, cleaning, sterilization protocols
      • The operating theater, preparing patients
      • Surgical equipment: description, cleaning and ways of use: insufflator, cold light source, camera, monitors, irrigation/suction device, electrosurgery
      • Urology instruments: sheaths, cystoscopies, resectoscopes, dilators, ureteroscopes, nephroscope etc

    The candidate will be awarded a certificate in Urology Operation theatre Course from BIMAST after the course.

    After the completion of the course candidate will have ample opportunities for getting a job in any hospital which has a Urology department
